A Visual And Handcraft Designer
My name is Sarah Liao, a designer learning in Goldsmiths’BA Design. I believe that good design is a process of continuous innovation and overcoming deficiencies, which includes the combination of Humanities, Environment, Society, Psychology, Education, Economy, and other aspects of knowledge. To achieve this, I have tried various fields of design.
Visual design and crafts are my specialties. After nearly eight years of fine art painting, I created unique colour schemes and adapted experienced hand-drawing skills. Through the operation of various websites and poster design, I am proficient in using design software such as Photoshop, AI, and C4D to reflect multi-dimensional works to make posters and books. Participating interior design internship and leading ceramic handmade workshops helps the communication and cooperation. The sense of space and traditional craftsmanship have become new fields of exploration that I am gradually maturing.
As a designer, I want to help further the use of graphic design within the retail sector through design that is unequivocally functional, aesthetically pleasing and environmentally responsible. As a college student, I hope to try some new breakthroughs based on the design ideas I have mastered and experienced in Europe and China.

Interior Design Internship
July 2021- Nov 2021
In Suzhou YIYE interior design company, I learned professional ways of using 3DMax to make interior renderings, followed up three different types of residential house design projects, and learned about the selection of building materials through on-the-spot inspections. During the internship, I was good at communication and teamwork, and I also got good opportunities to continue working in this era.
Sales Experience
July 2019-Feb 2022
I participated in the C4 design project in Hong Kong to design green food packaging for Good Eggs, and my design stood out. In addition to this, I worked as a short-term painting teacher and a ceramic-making teacher. I have been participating in various art workshops, making handicrafts and selling some of the works in recent years. Through sales, I have met friends in multiple fields. I have acquired proficient communication skills with customers, experience in advertising and marketing, and product packaging design.

I have designed the main visual effects of Goldsmiths CSSA's public account for two years, as well as posters and video productions for various activities online. I have personal sales interfaces for platforms such as Taobao, Xianyu, and The Red Book in China, and I am currently gradually improving the design of my personal homepage on International platforms such as Etsy. I am good at running and designing the visuals of web pages to make them more creative and attractive.
